Gundimom's comments:
This is my beloved grandfather. He was such an inspiration to me throughout my life. During Word War II, he was shot down and was a POW in Japan for about 6 months. Conditions were horrendous and they were treated abominably, so much so that Grandpa would NEVER talk about it. Despite all of this, he never held a grudge or showed the least bit of animosity towards the Japanese people. He truly showed the Courage to Love.
For the photo, I used a sepia photo, tinted it and extracted Grandpa to put in the stars and blue BG, plus grungied the BG up a bit to be consistent with the photo portion.
Journaling: Despite being treated horribly as a POW in Japan, Grandpa never held any animosity for the Japanese people.
